However, in contemporary society the camp has now become the rule and consequently a new interrogation of its logic is necessary. The authors explore the paradox of the camp, as representing both an old fear of enclosure and a new dream of belonging.

Bülent Diken teaches at Lancaster University, Department of Sociology. His research focuses on social theory, urbanism, mobility, post-structuralist philosophy and immigration. Carsten Bagge Laustsen teaches at Aarhus University, Department of Political Sciences. His research focuses on social theory, poststructuralist international relations theory and political theory.
