Luis Felipe Verdeja González is Professor of Materials Science and Metallurgy and Head of the Siderurgy, Metals and Materials Group and Head of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering of the University of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain). He is member of the ACS, TMS, ISIJ and IOM. His research focuses on the application, maintenance, and wear of refractory linings in blast furnaces and other metal and steels production processes, and non-ferrous extractive metallurgy.



Daniel Fernández González is Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering of the University of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain). His research focuses on the application of concentrated solar energy in materials science and metallurgy, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, agglomeration of materials (sintering) and recycling-valorization of metallurgical wastes.



José Ignacio Verdeja González is Senior Professor of Materials Science of the University of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain), and member of the ASM International. He focuses on broadening and strengthening the academic programs in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Oviedo. His research focuses on solidification of metals, metallography-properties relationship, sheet forming, thixoforming, superplasticity and textures of metals and alloys.
