He was lead editors of special issues on "Exploring Nonlinear Benefits in Engineering" published in Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing during 2018-2019 and 2021-2022, and chairs or co-chairs of several international conferences or conference sessions (e.g., CMAME 2018, ACMAE 2019, ICANDVC2021-2023).


Prof. Hu Ding's research field is nonlinear dynamics and control research. He studied at Hefei University of Technology from 1998 to 2005 and received a master's degree in 2005. He received a doctor's degree from Shanghai Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Shanghai University in 2008. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada; from 2016 to 2017, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Mechanical and Materials Science, Duke University, USA.







Dr. Jinchen(JC) Ji is currently an associate professor at the School of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering of University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His current research interests include dynamics, vibration and vibration control, machine condition monitoring, nonlinear dynamics, bio-inspired and origami-based quasi-zero stiffness vibration isolation, control of multi-agent systems, and control of predator-prey systems. He has published over 160 journal papers in these areas. He is on the editorial board for Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing (MSSP), and an associate editor for three international journals, namely, Journal of Vibration and Control (JVC), International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos (IJBC), Journal of Vibration Engineering & Technologies (JVET).




Dr. Daniil Yurchenko is interested in nonlinear and stochastic dynamics, control theory, vibration, stability, and bifurcation analysis of complex dynamic systems with application to energy harvesting. In 2001, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, USA, on the development of stochastic optimal control theory and analysis of non-smooth systems and accepted position of Assistant Professor at the University of Miami. In 2005, he was offered a post of Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Saint-Petersburgh State Polytechnic University, Russia. He received a Doctor of Science degree (habilitation) in 2007; in 2008, he received a Young Scientists Award from the Russian President Science Council. In 2008, he was promoted to a full professor and became a deputy head of MS program in Mechanics. In 2010, Dr. Yurchenko joined the Mechanical Engineering Department of Heriot-Watt University.
