Produktinformationen zu „Writing a Scientific Paper: The Early Career Researcher's Guide. (ePub)“
For researchers in health and life sciences, publishing research findings in the form of peer reviewed journal articles is critical part of their professional role. Although publication is the final stage of all research projects, PhD students, postdoctoral scientists and newly appointed academics frequently struggle with the basics of preparing a high-quality manuscript and as a result often fail in their paper submissions to the best journals in their discipline. This is because their skills in data collection and the execution of research projects may not be matched by their writing skills.
This book is a practical guide to writing for scientific journals. The reader will learn about the processes that go on behind the scenes at the journal office, before moving on to toolkits, tips and advice on how to organise and write their manuscript. As responding to critique from peer reviewers is an important element of the publication process, advice is given on how to write effective author rebuttal letters and on how to reflect on and learn from rejection. By the end of this book readers will have more confidence to take on the task of writing a paper.
