Autoren-Porträt von John Bratton
John Bratton grew up in Yorkshire, England, and now divides his time between Calgary, Canada and Edinburgh, Scotland. He is Honorary Professor in the Management School at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Hull, England and a PhD in Sociology of Work from the University of Manchester, England. He has more than 30 years' experience of teaching a range of HRM, organisational behaviour and leadership courses, at both undergraduate and graduate levels mainly in the UK and Canada, but also in Finland and Singapore. His research interests traverse thesociology of work and management. John was the first Director of the Workplace Learning Research
Unit at the University of Calgary, Canada, and has been a member of the editorial board of Leadership,
the Journal of Workplace Learning and the Canadian Journal for the Study of Adult Education. In addition
to writing this book, John is author of Japanization at Work: Managerial Studies in the 1990s;
co-author of Workplace Learning: A Critical Introduction (2004); co-author of Organizational Leadership (with Keith Grint and Debra Nelson) (2005); co-author of Capitalism and Classical Social Theory (with David Denham) (2019), now in its third edition, editor of Organizational Leadership (2020) and author of Work and Organizational Behaviour (2021), now in its fourth edition.
