Wanabe is a little song-bird who became discontented because he wanted to be like the other birds whom he perceived to be happy. His perception of happiness in the first case was based on being cool, in the second on prowess and lastly on being glamorous. However, he had no knowledge of all that it takes to achieve these characteristics. After having his desires granted in each case, he became more miserable. Wanabe found peace and contentment when he discovered that what he was yearning for, could be achieved in being himself- a song-bird who sang with all his heart and soul.
Autoren-Porträt von Millicent Haik
Millicent Haik, a retired teacher was born in Jamaica ,West Indies. She taught in Jamaica and New York and now resides in Florida. Her fifty years of teaching experience in elementary, middle and high school has provided her with hands-on wealth of knowledge in the area of self-awareness. Working with the youth at her church provided the initiative for the writing of this book. She was encouraged by her granddaughter to publish it. Wanabe is her debut as an author.
