Born in Chiavari, Walter Devoto graduated with honors in dentistry and dental protheses in 1991 from the University of Genoa. At the moment he is a lecturer at the International University of Catalonia, Barcelona, for a postgraduate course in esthetic dentistry and visiting professor at the Universitè de la Mediterranee, Marseille, where he teaches refinement of esthetic reconstructive dentistry. Dr Devoto is particulary interested in the field of conservative, esthetic restoration and is the author and coauthor of various publications in specialized international journals. As a speaker, he has participated in national and international courses and conferences on this subject as well as being a speaker, collaborator, and demonstrator in many major European universities. In addition, Dr Devoto is the author of one of the chapters of Le Guide Esthétique by A. Faucher and J. C. Paris (Quintessence Publishing France, 2003), Odontoiatria Restaurativa by Associazione Italiana Conservativa (AIC; Italy: Elsevier, 2009), Traumatología dentaria. Un enfoque multidisciplinar (Quintessence Publishing Spain, 2021), and Endoprotetyka by M. Zarow (Quintessence Publishing Poland, 2013). Since 1996 he has been a member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry. He has also been an active member of the Italian Academy of Conservative Dentistry since 1998 and an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry since 2002. He is a founding member of the Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and Styleitaliano. He runs his own private practice in the villages of Sestri Levante and Portofino in Genoa, Italy, and collaborates with prestigious dental offices specializing in esthetic dentistry throughout Europe.
