Francis was not very good with dates and the exact times when things happened. What he was good at describing his various adventures in vivid detail. The man had a wonderful knack for telling a story, and it is as he said. There was pride in his voice, and a genuine sparkle in his eye, as he spoke. This was a man who was proud of his achievements, and for good reason. It was because of men like Francis that people were rapidly settling in the West.
