The Routledge Companion to the French Revolution in World History engages in the most recent trends in scholarship of the French Revolution and its aftermath by placing the revolutionary events in France in an international context. The first section of the volume will examine the Revolution in a wider world context, with chapters on North Africa, China and Japan among others to emphasise the relevance of the political heritage of 1789 in the modern world. The second part will examine how different areas and regions were entangled with events in France at the time. This collection by an international team of contributors will offer an exciting new perspective on the French Revolution.
