Esperanza Aparicio Romero y Javier Pérez Pont ejercieron la profesión de bailarines profesionales por más de 15 años, trabajando como solistas y principales en diversas compañías europeas.En 1995 descubrieron la Contrología. Después de formarse como profesores junto a la legendaria Romana Kryzanowska y Sari Mejía Santo en Nueva York. Permanecen durante un tiempo al lado de estas dos maestras con la idea de perfeccionar sus conocimientos, obteniendo el Nivel II como formadores internacionales de la organización.
A finales del año 1999 deciden regresar a España y eligen Barcelona como la sede del primer Estudio en España avalado y apoyado por sus dos maestras instalando el que fue el primer Estudio de la Contrología en Barcelona.
En el año 2.002 dan comienzo al Programa de Certificación para Profesores en España bajo la tutela de las dos maestras mencionadas Durante estos años han introducido la Contrología en convenciones por todo el territorio español y en programas de televisión y radio. En la actualidad además de dirigir su Estudio y Escuela de Certificación de Profesores, colaboran con Romana's Pilates como invitados en la formación de profesores para impartir seminarios y clases internacionalmente.
Esperanza Aparicio y Javier Pérez Pont han publicado en el año 2.005 el primer libro por autores españoles sobre el método con el título "El Auténtico Método Pilates, El Arte del Control" con la editorial Martinez Roca del Grupo Planeta, habiendo sido un éxito editorial no sólo en España sino en toda América de habla hispana. La obra se ha traducido al portugués.
Y por último acaban de terminar después de muchos años de investigación, la primera y además única biografía sobre la vida de Hubertus Joseph Pilates en la historia. Solo documentada en testimonios orales pero sobre todo en documentos oficiales, históricos y personales del protagonista del libro.
