Produktinformationen zu „Tales of the Ring and the Camp (ePub)“
When one thinks of Conan Doyle, his Sherlock Holmes character immediately springs to mind; but Conan Doyle wrote in a wide variety of genres and styles and created other notable characters, not the least of which was Brigadier Etienne Gerard, a marvelous hero set against the backdrop of the Europe of Napoleon. This collection of short stories is divided into two parts: Tales of the Ring are stories with a boxing connection, in the form of 19th century pugilism by Queensbury and London Prize rules; Tales of the Camp have a military setting, mostly in the heyday of the British Empire. Among these is a Brigadier Gerard story where one can meet this character (or renew acquaintance with him).
