Members of the writers' group PAWWA (Philippine American Women Writers and Artists) retold these ancient Philippine folklore and myths. There are seven stories; and the book has approximately 40 pages.TThe book has black and white illustrations. The folk retellings include beloved tales such as: Seven Thousand Emeralds, The Legend of Mt. Makiling, A Secret in Makiling, The Mermaid and Kanag, The Legend of Siete Pecados, The Haunted Dakit Tree, and Bolak Sonday: The Woman Warrior. This childre's book was first published by PAWWA in 1992. This 2022 reprint is by PALH (Philippine American Literary House).
