She adopted her son from Romania in 1991 and her daughter from Ukraine in 1994. The setting for Rodica's Red Scarf is not fiction and neither is how it arrived in the small village of Romania.Kim has her masters degree in special education and has a heart for teaching children of all ages. She is a writer who lives in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and enjoys visiting schools to share her book and personal experiences while in Romania and Ukraine. God, family, close friends and all the beauty Cape Cod has to offer, are near and dear to her heart.
