Produktinformationen zu „Phantom of the Opera (ePub)“
The Phantom of the Opera (fr. Le Fantome de l'Opera) is a work by the French writer, journalist, recognized master of detective G. Leroux (1868-1927).
The Gothic novel was serialized in Le Gaulois from September 1909 to January 1910. Later it was published as a separate book. The author was inspired to create the novel by the newly built Opera House in Paris, which is still one of the most famous theaters in the world. It is believed that the torture room, colorfully described in the book, is nothing more than a mirror hall of the Mirage Palace, presented at the Paris Exhibition of 1900. Based on the plot of the novel, several theatrical productions were made and several films were shot. The very first film adaptation was a 1925 film. The novel received even greater popularity after the release of the musical in 1986, which became one of the longest-running performances on Broadway.
