While sharp clinical and assessment skills are very important in patient management, emotional support is just as important in returning the patient back to his pre-illness state of mind.

She believes that every single staff member in a hospital needs to have exceptional bedside manner skills in order to help the patient feel good about his care and recovery.

When a patient knows that his physicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, lab personnel, therapists and dietary personnel will interact with him in a kind, compassionate and courteous manner, he is more motivated to participate in his own recovery.
