Autoren-Porträt von Raj Napal
Raj Napal was born in Port Louis, Mauritius. He immigrated to Britain with his parents and siblings when he was eight years old. He was brought up in Cardiff in South Wales. Poetry was instilled in him while he lived in Wales. He obtained a law degree at Leeds University in Yorkshire and was a criminal defense barrister in London in the '80s and '90s. In 1995, he came to Ontario, Canada, with his then spouse, where he continued to practice law.
In 2010, he commenced writing, but at that time, it was mostly poetry. In the last two years, his imagination took him into the strange world and genre of the supernatural, horror, and terror. He finds short stories particularly fascinating, and Dancing with Terror is part of a collection of stories in that intriguing genre. Most of them were written in the last two years. He continues to write poetry and his selection of poems in this book, he hopes, will catch the readers' attention as they embrace and enhance the themes in the tales. He has also ventured into the field of crime-thriller serializations, which he's still working on. One day, he'll complete them.
He is divorced and has two children, Joshua and Helena.
He hopes readers will find this collection of fifty short stories and the selection of poems enjoyable. If they do, he intends to publish a second part to Dancing with Terror.
