Caption Collage: Preposterous Poetry.
This collection of abstract poetry is not only about detachment from the digital social media space, its main settings is the scrolling space itself - it is abrupt, blurry, and has no start or finish line.
The captions come originally from my social media account and are glued into poetry based on my artistic taste: think of it as an artful collage made from words on a canvas. The captions have been written over the period of 5 years. For me, they were always little works of art!
In this collection they are no longer descriptions to photos but poems, with its own meaning and existence - no longer secondary. Detached from the whole combination with the photo where together they made sense, those newly collided lines become standalone carriers of new meanings - therefore, preposterous. The abstractions behind each poem carry vivid realisation of a blurry connotation behind existence in todays social media space and outside of it.
I have always prioritised words, so in the world were words don not matter, here is a space for them to grow into something more powerful than a caption; an art object, a poem, a work of 5 years of my life that took place in front of everyone and everyone was looking but no actually seeing. Few people notice the caption under a photo, so here is a space for captions to exist on their own, independently.
Photos are captions to my wor(L)ds.
P.S. In the process of detachment of the captions from photos, no posts were damaged.
