Ram S. Nanda, BDS, DDS, MS, PhD, is founder, professor, and chairman emeritus of the orthodontic department at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City. He held concurrent appointments as chairman of the Division of Development Dentistry and adjunct professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. Prior to that he was founder, professor, and head of the Department of Orthodontics at Lucknow University in Lucknow, India. Over the course of a career spanning more than 50 years as a clinician, educator, and researcher, Dr Nanda has authored more than 150 original basic and clinical research publications and several book chapters, lectured and offered courses nationally and internationally, and accepted many national and international awards in recognition of his quest for excellence and his contributions to the advancement of orthodontic research and education.
