Lyrics is a collection of elegiac dedication by the ancient Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso (lat. Publius Ovidius Naso, 43 BC - 18 AD). The author praises the virtues of the beautiful lover, whose personality is hidden under the name of the Greek woman Corinna.
Publius Ovid Nazon, as one of the most educated people of his time, gained fame as a devoted friend of Horace, and also had a significant influence on late European literature.
"Odes" is a collection of lyric poems by the great poet of the "golden age" of Roman literature, Quintus Horatius Flaccus (Latin Quintus Horatius Flaccus, 65 BC - 8 AD).
Horace's contribution to world literature can hardly be overestimated. Many poets imitated him, his works were admired by J. Byron, A. Pushkin, F. Petrarch and many others.
