I envision this book as a tool to further this research and used by those who facilitate learning in copyright laws. This power tool validates those being impacted by aggressive behaviors, financial wrongs, plagiarism, and copyright infringement in the entertainment industry. This literature proves that everyone who has been impacted by intentional behaviors certainly has a unique story to tell.

As I find her to be insightful and astute, Dr. Julie demonstrates how unethical practices and noncompliance can lead to an unjust system, by bringing to light the fact that her lyrics were used without her consent for the song, "You Are Not Alone," by R. Kelly and Michael Jackson. This book talks about exclusive lyrics being used without compensation, by the big artists and big record companies; about how sometimes songs and music that actually come to be; may not be totally created by the artist or writer listed on that project; but by another aspiring writer. I can relate, because I have written and published songs and music of my own, as I am a songwriter/music producer. "This book should be required reading for students studying music," especially when it comes to protecting copyrights, negotiating with record labels or song publishers.
