Urban Rail Down Under

Auch wenn der Fernverkehr auf Schienen in Australien und Neuseeland eine sehr geringe Rolle spielt, verfügen alle grossen Städte dieser beiden Länder doch über effiziente und moderne S-Bahnen, welche die oft weitläufigen Ballungsräume gut erschliessen. Strassenbahnen findet man heute hingegen nur noch in wenigen Städten, wobei allerdings das Tramnetz in Melbourne zu den grössten und dichtesten weltweit zählt.
