Spectroscopic and luminescence of Transition Metal Ions Doped Nano MgO The Photoluminescence emissions in the present investigation are attributed to the F and F-aggregate center and the same was also confirmed by optical density studies. The optical density studies identified the presence of surface defects in the doped samples. The PL emissions in the present investigation are attributed to the f-f or 4f-5d transitions of TM ion in the host lattice. The calculated CIE coordinates indicate that Transition metal doped MgO has good color purity. Thus, Transition metal-activated MgO phosphors have great potential for application in LED and display devices. The characterization and PL studies of different mol % of Transition metal ion doped nano MgO prepared by solution combustion method. This synthesis method has many advantages like homogeneity, control over stoichiometry, purity and incorporation of desired amount of impurity ions and this method is instantaneous, single step, energy saving process which does not require further calcinations.
