The readily understandable text, supported by helpful images, describes the elements that define blood pressure and explains such important concepts as pulse wave velocity, central blood pressure, reflected waves, and pulse pressure amplification. Paolo Salvi, MD, PhD, is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He was Associate Professor in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Biology of Aging at Henri Poincaré University of Nancy (France) from 2007 to 2010. At present he is a researcher at the Istituto Auxologico Italiano in Milan, and adjunct professor in Cardiology at University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan (Italy).
