The emergency setting remains one of the most important parts of daily clinical practice for surgeons. This approach can be useful in gaining a practical understanding of different clinical scenarios in order to adopt a correct management and treatment. Andrea Mazzari is a general surgeon at the Mini-invasive and General Surgery Unit of the Cristo Re Hospital of Rome, Italy and is past President of Italian Polispecialistic Society of Young Surgeons (SPIGC).
