Robert B. Pippin, geb. 1948, ist Professor für Philosophie an der Universität Chicago sowie Mitglied des dortigen Committee on Social Thought. Er lehrte u. a. in San Diego, Amsterdam und Berlin, wo er auch Fellow am Wissenschaftskolleg war. 2011 hatte er den Schiller-Lehrstuhl der Universität Jena inne.
