LAMSDORFIn Their Own WordsExperiences related by prisoners of war atStalag VIIIB/344 Lamsdorfand its working partiesduring the Second World War.In truth the whole picture is really like a vast jigsaw, and each of the many thousands of pieces is an individual, and each of these individuals has a story; and each of these stories is complicated, fascinating, perhaps distressing in parts, and many of the stories demonstrate the strength and goodness of human nature that can emerge in severe times of trial.Book 1 in the Lamsdorf series.www.prisonersofwarmuseum.com
Autoren-Porträt von Philip Baker
Philip Baker was in the Royal Air Force for seven years before entering the teaching profession. Some twenty-four years later he had a complete change and became a tour operator. He organised and led many 'Prisoners-of-War' tours that included visits to the Polish Central Prisoners-of-War Museum at Lambinowice (Lamsdorf) on the site of the former Stalag VIIIB/344. He has been recording the subject of Prisoners-of-War since 2001 and is the founder and curator of the On-Line Museum of Prisoners-of-War.
