In this book are some proposals, how to improve existing mobile networks and satellite navigation systems, to be able to use a common GSM or updated UMTS phone as an emergency terminal for search and rescue services. Such terminals are widespread and therefore proposed systems will save many lives, if they are applied. This book introduces the reader to the issue of search and rescue systems and proposes standards for new innovative systems. The systems presented in this book need some enthusiasm from network operator's side to be implemented. The goal of this book is to present new ideas, which can improve or update today's search and rescue systems.
Autoren-Porträt von Jozef Petrek
Petrek, JozefJozef Petrek received his MSc degree from Slovak University of technology and his PhD. degree from Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Bratislava. His scientific work concerns with radiocommunication systems. Since February 2013 he is with DTI University in Dubnica nad Váhom and solves search and rescue systems problems.
