This book is an outcome of successful experimental research on the effectiveness of catalyzed diesel oxidation catalyst on Euro-I, 4 cylinders, water cooled, direct injection, variable speed, automotive compression ignition engine in a laboratory set up in India. The results in the form of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon(HC), smoke emissions (Opacity%) and engine performance, obtained using of Diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and compare with the performance of engine using without DOC and conclusions were drawn. It was found that using diesel oxidation catalyst; CO and HC emissions were almost entirely eliminated.
