One more disadvantage is that it require decompression scheme for decompressing the data which require extra hardware and hence become costly. for compressing the digital image require an extra hardware to decompress the data. From this analysis it is clear that a good compression scheme must be trade off between the amount of compression, amount of distortion produced due to the compression and also the computational time and resources. this work uses an application of wavelets for compression. Wavelet analysis is capable of revealing aspects of data that other signal analysis techniques miss aspects like trends, breakdown points, discontinuities in higher derivatives, and self-similarity
