Are there borders? May the state interfere?
If freedom of the press is understood as a synonym for freedom of speech and mental freedom, it wins a historically far-reaching dimension. The right of the freedom of speech was considered in the Greek democracy and Roman republic as a self-evident fact. On the other hand, for the first time the Roman law of the Twelve Tables revealed qualifying regulations in 450 B.C.E. Mockery poems and abusive poems were threatened in it even with the punishment by death. A censorship was still unknown for the purposes of our today's modern state right.
In the following segment the basic concepts and their definitions are cleared under the point "Basics". Further, a representation of both countries Germany and Turkey takes place. Consequently, the countries geographic situation and the state form are closer explained and moreover a showing of the juridical basic conditions occurs regarding to the freedom of the press of both countries. In the third segment of the term paper the different implementation of the freedom of the press in both countries is revealed. On this occasion, a universal line is drawn with the help of the research question and the thesis statement:
Research question: Why is the freedom of the press in Germany more guaranteed than in Turkey?
Thesis statement: The freedom of the press in Germany is more guaranteed than in Turkey, because the Turkish government changes laws in the Criminal Code over and over again or delete them even completely; apart from the numerous restrictions in the constitution concerning "the protection of the national security".
This term paper is finally rounded off with a conclusion in which the compiled knowledge is brought together in an overview.

Günay Edgü, Jahrgang 1986, ist gelernter Mediengestalter in Bild und Ton, B.A. Media Management und M.Sc. Marktorientierte Unternehmensführung. Nach seinem schulischen Werdegang schloss er an dem GSO Berufskolleg seine Ausbildung zum Mediengestalter in Bild un Ton ab. Die Ausbildung umfasste die Planung, Produktion und Gestaltung von Bild- und Tonmedien. Sein Ausbildungsbetrieb umfasste ein Portfolio von Werbe- und Dokumentarfilmen, Medientrainings und einem regionalen Online TV-Sender, der täglich redaktionelle Beiträge für die Region herstellte. Nach seiner Ausbildung arbeitete er als Studioleiter in einem Tonstudio. Er kümmerte sich um die Planung, Organisation, Akquise von neuen Kunden wie auch die Produktion von audio und visuellen Produkten. 2012 begann er das Studium im Studiengang Media Management an der Rheinischen Fachhochschule Köln. Der Studiengang vermittelte ihm betriebswirtschaftliche, medien- und kommunikationswissenschaftliche sowie technische und kreative Fähigkeiten und er erworb dadurch eine breite Medien- und Führungskompetenz. Ab 2013 arbeitete er am Lehrstuhl für Medienwirtschaft an der RFH. Als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Assistent der Studiengangsleitung führte er sowohl hochschulspezifische Aufgaben und Lehrtätigkeiten als auch administrative und organisatorische Tätigkeiten durch. Neben Fachliteraturrecherchen sowie Recherchen nach neuen Trends in der Medienbranche hielt er auch Vorträge und Vorlesungen in den Vorlesungsfächern ,,Techniken wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens",,,Forschungsmethoden und wissenschaftliche FragestelIungen" sowie ,,Personalmanagement". Während seiner Zeit am Lehrstuhl veröffentlichte er diverse wisschenschaftliche Arbeiten wie z.B. die "Auswirkung farblicher Produktgestaltung auf die Kaufentscheidung von Frauen und Männern" oder behandelte auch derzeit hochktuelle Themen wie die Pressefreiheit in der Türkei. und die Kommunikation zwischen Unternehmen und Hochschule verwaltete. Seinen Master Abschluss erlangte er an der Technischen Hochschule Köln an der Fakultät für Wirtschafts- und Rechtswissenschaften im Studiengang "Marktorientierte Unternehmensführung". Der Schwerpunkt des Studiengangs lag dabei auf den Fachrichtungen Marketing, Controlling und Finanzen. Derzeit arbeitet Günay Edgü als Referent der Geschäftsführung in einem weltweit agierenden TV- und Entertainment Haus in Köln.
