    I love Christine Feehans Dark-Series and Leopard-Series. The new fantasy world of the Shadow-Series is very interesting, however the relationship between Ricco and Mariko is weird. Christine Feehan tried to include Shibari, a Japanese "art" of bondage as the core of their relationship. Needless to say that most sex scenes include bondage and ropes and altough the author tries to descibe it as a special form of art, it defenitely gives off a kinky BDSM vibe throughout the whole book. Without the bondage the book and story would have been extremly well put together. Without the long BDSM bondage Scenes (about 1/3 of the book is only sex and ropes), the book could have been considered as a master piece. Unfortunaltely, it seem that Christine Feehan tries to create her version of "fifty shades of Grey" with the Shadow-Series. Therefore, my rating is 3 stars only.
