It captures an honest attempt to explore the possibility of knowing what Jesus Christ might have looked like when he was on earth before his passion, crucifixion, and death. To keep it simple: The author put himself in the position of a "research artist" or an inquisitive "painter" who intended to create a portrait of Christ after much research but ended up re-discovering Him in pictures that already existed.
