Produktinformationen zu „Kentucky Colonel in Wagner Land (ePub)“
After his adventures in other dimensions based on Arthurian legend and H. Rider Haggard's Africa, Hal Morgan finds himself hurled into an alternate reality based upon the operas of Richard Wagner. There Hal must locate the stolen Ring of the Nibelungs and return it to the Rhine Maidens, before its curse can destroy him. Along the way he must contend with treacherous nobles, gnomes, giants, zombies, witches, a dragon, the Flying Dutchman, Valkyries, Norse gods. To defeat his enemies, Hal must join with Wagnerian heroes such as Siegfried and Lohengrin to confront an enemy from his past. Will Hal be reunited with Glorinda? Will he fail in his mission and cause the cave in of dimensions, so that Louisville will be invaded by flying dragons on Fourth Avenue, sportive elves in Central Park, and greedy goblins preparing to ransack Fort Knox? Like the other books in this series, the finale abounds in high spirited adventure, wild imagination, humor, farce, satire, and dangerous swordplay.
Autoren-Porträt von Kenneth Tucker
Kenneth Tucker, professor emeritus at Murray State University, taught Shakespeare there from 1970 to 2001. Upon retiring, he devoted himself to writing and still contributes book reviews to The Shakespeare Newsletter. The second edition of his Eliot Ness and the Untouchables appeared in 2012. Confining himself to no genre, Tucker has written a variety of novels. He is perhaps best known for A Wilderness of Tigers, the story of early Kentucky's rampage of the murderous Harpe Brothers. His other novels include I Pray the Lord My Soul to Keep, a novel of the Civil War set in Western Kentucky and The Fall of the House of Spade, a tale based roughly upon the Lizzie Borden case and a Kentucky murder of a century ago. He is also author of the Hal Morgan, or Kentucky Colonel, comical fantasy series in which the protagonist is tossed into other dimensions where legendary realms exist. The first of these is A Kentucky Colonel in King Arthur's Court; the second A Kentucky Colonel in Darkest Africa. The current novel completes the series.
