Autoren-Porträt
Klaus Wandelt is Full Professor in Physical Chemistry and Director of the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany. In 1975 he received his PhD on electron spectroscopic investigations of alloy surfaces. After a postdoctoral stay at the IBM-Research Laboratory in San Jose, California, he qualified as a professor on the concept and detection of the local work function in 1981. His research interests focuses on fundamental aspects of the physics and chemistry of metal surfaces under ultrahigh vacuum conditions and in electrolytes, on the atomic structure of amorphous materials, and more recently on processes at the surface of plants. Professor Wandelt has organized numerous national and international conferences and workshops, edited conference proceedings and books, and published about 400 research papers.

Rezension zu „Surface and Interface Science / 1+2 / Surface and Interface Science Vol 1+2, 2 Teile.Vol.1+2 “
Comments on the series' concept "This looks like an ambitious project that fills a clear need." "I believe that it is really important to write a large handbook on surface science, it is really missing." "Your project is very attractive indeed, and I believe that it will be welcome to many present and future 'surfacists' and those who apply surface phenomena in technology."
