Supply chain logistics capacity is an important determinant of successful implementation of mass drugs administration (MDA) - a strategy for elimination of neglected tropical disease. Logistics and supply chain infrastructure in low and middle-income countries remain untapped in developing interventions for the control and elimination of tropical diseases. In this book we demonstrated that logistics performance indicators, LPI, - namely, supply chain infrastructure, logistics services, customs and border processes and supply chain reliability are significant predictors of successful mass administration of preventive chemotherapeutic drugs for the elimination of tropical diseases. We introduced a concept of supply chain epidemiology where national supply chain information is used to craft disease prevention strategies for the elimination of tropical infectious diseases.
