Dr. Ramana Grandhi received his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1984. He joined the Wright State University faculty in 1984 as assistant professor and was promoted to the rank of professor in 1993. Currently, Dr. Ramana Grandhi is the distinguished professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Wright State University where he directs 20 researchers as well as teaches engineering classes. Dr. Grandhi also serves as the Director of the Ph.D in Engineering Program. His research interests are in multidisciplinary analysis and optimization, probabilistic mechanics, and metal forming. Dr. Grandhi has conducted sponsored research for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, NSF, NASA, DARPA, GE, GM and Caterpillar. He is the author of over 200 journal papers and conference proceedings. He is a fellow of ASME and an associate fellow of AIAA.Robert A. Canfield is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Graduate School Engineering and Management, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). He earned his PhD in Engineering Mechanics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1992. His research interests include structural optimization, multidisciplinary analysis and design methods, uncertainty quantification, structural dynamics and control, and aeroelasticity. Over the last four years, he has been awarded nearly $400,000 as the principal investigator for five research projects. He has published 24 journal articles and 42 papers in conference proceedings and co-authored one book. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, where he was the project engineer for the Automated Structural Optimization System (ASTROS), an AFIT instructor, Program Manager for basic research in Computational Mathematics, Chief of Plans and Budget and then Director of Policy and Integration at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. He chaired the American Institute of Aeronautics and
