Pressezitat
«This book presents a unique attribute, in that the contributors have adopted different methodologies to each study and have described themes of Chinese life and culture in a wide range of settings and time periods. In addition, different forms of Chinese language are analysed, including Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghai dialect as well as modern Chinese and historical vernacular Chinese. This variety provides a broad picture of Chinese institutional discourses.» (Ching-yi Amy Juan, Linguistica e Filologia) «...the current collection of studies on Chinese institutional interactions, being the first of its kind, is a much welcomed and timely publication, contributing to filling in a gap in the literature about institutional communication norms and customs in the Chinese socio-cultural context. [...] With detailed empirical investigations of institutional discourse from different perspectives, this book is an invaluable reference for teachers and students to gain a greater understanding of various methodologies in analysing naturally occurring data.» (Citing Li, Discourse & Communication)
