Vor genau 50 Jahren ist eines der spektakulärsten Alben der Popgeschichte erschienen: "Revolver" von den Beatles gilt nicht nur wegen der Musik als Meilenstein, sondern auch die Cover Artwork des Grafikdesigners und Musikers Klaus Voormann ist ein Meisterstück.
Dafür hat er 1967 auch den begehrten Grammy als erster deutscher Künstler erhalten. Kernstück ist die Entstehungsgeschichte des berühmten Beatles Albumcovers, von Klaus Voormann als Graphic Novel mit 152 Illustrationen gezeichnet.
Darüber hinaus gibt es viele interessante Stories, Fotos und Illustrationen um das Thema REVOLVER herum, u.a. ein Vorwort von Paul McCartney und einen Beitrag von Ringo Starr.
Autoren-Porträt von Klaus Voormann
Klaus Voormann wurde 1938 in Berlin geboren; dort Studium der Kunst an der Meisterschule für Grafik und Buchgewerbe, später in Hamburg an der Meisterschule für Gestaltung; danach freier Grafiker, Designer, Illustrator. 1960 trifft er die Beatles und wendet sich der Musik zu; in den Siebzigern gefragter Session-Musiker in New York und Los Angeles; 1983 Rückkehr nach Deutschland, Personal-Manager und Produzent; zweifacher »Grammy«-Gewinner.
