PCOS is characterized with insulin resistance, impairment of beta cells function, impaired glucose tolerance, type II diabetes, excessive androgen secretion, dyslipidemia and visceral obesity. Since PCOS with increasing age can be associated with a lot of risk factors such as infertility, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, endometrial, ovaries and breast cancer for this reason the identification of this disease, especially in adolescent girls is necessary to prevent the progression of it. This book, with the help of published scientific articles, has provided useful information for readers to timely diagnosis, prevention of progress and treatment of the disease, which is hoped to be useful.
